taxes, and the bond of the preceding clerk shall be released
from responsibility therefor; provided, that no town clerk's
bond shall be released until his books and account have been
properly audited as hereinbefore provided in this Act, and he
has fully settled his accounts with the Mayor and Council of
Easton, or the unsettled accounts are transferred as herein
provided.

SEC, 97B. The town clerk shall make out and submit to the
Mayor and Council, on April 1st of each and every year, his
annual statement, with an accurate itemized account showing
the receipts and disbursements for the fiscal year, which shall
be published in connection with the Mayor's annual report.
Also at each regular meeting of the Council, and as often as re-
quired by them, he shall submit a monthly statement of all op-
erating expenses and all money received and disbursed. The
books of the town clerk shall be audited by some competent per-
son appointed by the Mayor and Council of Easton in January
and July of each year.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

ARTICLE XXII.

WASHINGTON COUNTY.

CHAPTER 645.

AN ACT to extend the provisions of the Acts of 1902, Chapter
160, and the amendments thereto, found in the Acts of 1904,
Chapter 389, and in the Acts of 1908, Chapter 496, so as to
make them applicable to Washington County in addition to
that part of the State to which it already applies.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 14A of Chapter 496 of the Acts of 1908 be
repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as
follows:

SEC. 14A. Be it enacted, That none of the provisions of this
Act shall apply to Worcester, Kent, Queen Anne's, Caroline,
Wicomico, Allegany, Calvert, Dorchester, St. Mary's, Cecil,
Prince George's, Harford, Charles and Garrett counties.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
