ascertain the owner of the dogs or sluts which did said dam-
age ; or, if the said owner is known, to prove to the satisfaction
of the said Commissioners that it is not possible to collect the
amount of damage sustained by suit against the owner of said
dogs or sluts; and in case any dog or slut shall be known habit-
ually to kill sheep or poultry or chase or worry the same, it
shall be lawful for any person to kill such dog or slut; and in
case the damage to any person by reason of loss or injury to
his sheep or poultry shall be from dogs or sluts, either his own
or kept upon his premises, he shall be entitled to no compensa-
tion under this subtitle of this Article.
SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts
inconsistent with this Act be and the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 564.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 23 of
Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Talbot County," subtitle "Birds and Game," as amend-
ed by Chapter 62 of the Laws of Maryland passed at the Ses-
sion of 1892.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 23 of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County," subtitle "Birds and
Game," as amended by Chapter 62 of the Laws of Maryland
passed at the Session of 1892, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That no person shall shoot or in
any manner catch, kill or have in their possession in Talbot
County, any partridge between the twenty-fifth day of Decem-
ber and the fourteenth day of November, inclusive; nor any
rabbit between the twenty-fifth day of December and the four-
teenth day of November, inclusive; nor any woodcock between
the first day of January and the fourth day of July; nor any
sord or water rail, or summer duck, between the first day of
January and the tenth day of September; nor shall any person
wilfully or maliciously trap any partridge or destroy or molest
the eggs of said birds at any time in said county.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from and after the date of its passage.
