tion at the next regular town election held after the passage of
this Act.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted. That Thomas H. Bock, Cassius-
M. Dashiell, S. Frank Dashiell, H. Fillmore Lankford and
Henry J. Waters be and they are hereby appointed commis-
sioners ; and they, or a majority of them, are hereby authorized
and empowered to employ experts in sewerage and waterworks
construction, at reasonable compensation, and to contract for
and superintend the building and construction of a sewerage
system for the said town of Princess Anne, and to lay out,
build and construct a waterworks system for said town, or to
repair, construct, improve and enlarge the system of water-
works now in use in said town, which said sewerage system
and system of waterworks, or reconstruction thereof, shall be
built by contract in such manner as said commissioners, in
their discretion, shall determine, and the person or persons to
whom such contract may be awarded shall execute a bond or
bonds to the said President and Commissioners of Princess
Anne, with the security or sureties and with penalty approved
by the commissioners appointed by this Act, conditioned for
the faithful performance of his or their contract or contracts,
in accordance with the specifications furnished by said com-
missioners appointed by this Act; provided the said construc-
tion, reconstruction and improvements shall not cost in the
aggregate, when built, an amount exceeding the sum of twenty-
five thousand dollars ($25,000); and provided further, that
when so built or rebuilt the said waterworks and sewerage sys-
tem shall be under the control and superintendence of the
President and Commissioners of Princess Anne aforesaid.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That in case either of the said
commissioners by this Act appointed shall die, resign or refuse
to act, the other commissioners named in this Act shall have
full power and authority to supply the vacancy or vacancies.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That any expenditures or indebt-
edness heretofore made or incurred by the said President and
Commissioners of Princess Anne on account of the construc-
tion, reconstruction or maintenance of the present system of
waterworks at present remaining unpaid and not heretofore
provided for by bond issue, shall be paid out of the proceeds of
the sale of the bonds provided for by this Act.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
