1062 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

of the Act of 1898, Chapter 235, so far as the same are not
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act and its purposes,
and so far as the same will facilitate the County Treasurer of
said county in the discharge of his duties hereunder, shall be
possessed by and hereby given to said County Treasurer, but he
shall not by implication be held to possess any of the powers of
such collectors as might tend to delay him in the discharge of
his duties, or render the purpose of this Act more difficult;
and it is hereby further provided that nothing in this Act shall
be construed to affect the rights, powers or duty of the Sheriff
of Queen Anne's County to make collections of all State and
county taxes due and in arrear at the time of the passage of
this Act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all laws or parts of laws,
general or local, inconsistent with the provisions of this Act
be and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the first day of June, nineteen hundred and ten.

CHAPTER 77.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Town Commissioners
of Centreville to establish, construct and maintain a sewerage
system in the town of Centreville, Queen Anne's County,
Maryland, and to issue and sell its bonds to an amount not
exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000), to provide funds
for that purpose, and to levy taxes on the assessable property

of said town to redeem said bonds and to pay the interest
thereon, and to acquire lands by condemnation and otherwise
needed in the construction of said sewerage system; with a
proviso that the issue of said bonds be first submitted to and
approved by the legally qualified voters of the said town of
Centreville.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Town Commissioners of Centreville, a munici-
pal corporation, be and it is hereby fully authorized and em-
powered to construct, establish and maintain in working or-
der a sewerage system in the town of Centreville, Queen Anne's
County, Maryland, for the collection, transmission and dis-
posal of drainage and sewage from the houses and other build-
ings, cesspools, wells, sinks and other receptacles for sewage
and drainage in said town, including also, if the Town Com-
missioners of Centreville shall at any time so determine,
storm water and other drainage from the streets, lanes, roads
