1048 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

drag, carts, hose, plows, picks, shovels, scoops and other ma-
chinery and equipment as they may deem necessary for the
thorough working of the roads by a sufficient number of men.
The moneys received from the sale of said bonds and at any
time from the sale of any useless or worn-out equipment, shall
be placed to the credit of a separate account, in any bank in
said county where interest can be obtained, if possible, to be
known as "Equipment Fund," and no part of said funds shall
be used for any other purpose than the purchase of equipment
or machinery for the working of roads or building of bridges.
Aud the County Commissioners of said county are hereby di-
rected to turn over to said Board of Road Directors within
thirty days after their organization all road machinery, tools
and implements in the possession of said County Commission-
ers.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of
Acts, whether the same be public, general or public local Acts,
which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be and
the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsis-
tency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

ARTICLE XVIII.

QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY.

CHAPTER 708.

AN ACT to authorize, empower and direct the County Com-
missioners of Queen Anne's County to grant a pension of
fifty dollars annually to W. D. Harrington, of said county,
and to levy said amount on the assessable property of said
county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County
be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
grant a pension of fifty dollars annually for a period of two
years to W. D. Harrington, of said county, said pension of fifty
dollars to be paid in quarterly instalments of twelve dollars
and fifty cents each during the said period of two years, and to
levy said sum of fifty dollars current money upon the assessa-
