EMERSON C. HARRINGTON, GOVERNOR. 907

General Laws of Maryland, as passed by the Legislature of
Maryland, at the Session of 1916, in Chapter 385, is hereby
repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:

Section 28-B. For the purposes of this Act the following
shall be considered game birds: Anatidae, or waterfowl, in-
cluding brant, wild ducks, geese and swans; Rallidae, or rails,
including coots (mudhens), gallinules, sora and other rails;
Limicolae, or shore birds, including woodcock, snipe, yellow-
legs and plover; Gallinae, including quail, partridges, ruffed
grouse, wild turkeys and pheasants; doves, reedbirds (rice
birds or bobolinks) and blackbirds. All other species of wild
resident or migratory birds shall be considered non-game birds.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That this Act shall take effect from the first day of
July, 1918.

CHAPTER 440.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 35D
of Article 10, Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester County,"
sub-title "Birds and Game," as amended by Chapter 219 of
the Acts of 1912.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 35D of Article 10, Public Local Laws, title
"Dorchester County," sub-title "Birds and Game," as amended
by Chapter 219 of the Acts of 1912, be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows
35D. No person shall hunt any quail, partridge or rabbit
during any closed season with any dog or gun, and no person
shall hunt or kill any quail, partridge, woodcock, dove, squir-
rel or rabbit with dog or gun, on any Sunday; no person shall
shoot or catch any quail, partridge, woodcock, dove, squirrel
or rabbit when snow is on the ground. Except, however, any
owner or owners of dog or dogs, male or female, between Octo-
ber twenty-fifth and November ninth, exclusive of both dates,
shall be permitted to run or train his dog or dogs provided he
accompanies it or them, but in so doing he shall not be allowed
or permitted to carry a gun. Any person or persons who shall
harbor or permit any dog or dogs, male or female, to remain
on or about his or their premises shall be deemed the owner of
