Medicine and Surgery continuously in the State of Maryland
since the approval of said Act; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the State Veterinary Medical Board be and it is
hereby authorized and directed to register Jesse F. Englar
among the persons qualified to practice Veterinary Medicine
and Surgery in this State, and to issue to the said Jesse F.
Englar a certificate to practice Veterinary Medicine and Sur-
gery in this State, upon the payment by the said Jesse F.
Englar of the registration fee of $1.00.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an Emergency Law and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety, and hav-
ing been passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.

Approved April 10th, 1918.

CHAPTER 437.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 673
of Article 4 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (Revised
Edition of 1915), title "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Li-
quor and Intoxicating Drinks," eliminating the provision
requiring that petitions for licenses must be published in a
newspaper printed in the German language.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 673 of Article 4 of the Public Local Laws
of Maryland (Revised Edition of 1915), title "City of Balti-
more," sub-title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks," be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to
read as follows:

673, Every person applying for a license to sell intoxicat-
ing liquors in said city shall file with the said Board his, her
or their petition for such license, and the Board shall cause
notification of such petition to be published three times in
three newspapers of general circulation in said city, to be desig-
nated by said Board, the first publication to be not less than
fifteen nor more than thirty days before the time fixed by the
Board for action on said petitions.
