CHAPTER 395.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101 and 102
of Article 12 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Garrett County," sub-title "Fences."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections Number 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101 and
102, Article 12, Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Gar-
rett County," sub-title "Fences," be and the same is hereby
repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from June first, 1918.

Approved April 18th, 1918.

CHAPTER 396.

AN ACT to make valid deeds, mortgages, bonds of convey-
ances, bills of sale, and all other conveyances of real and
personal property, or of any interest, defective in acknowl-
edgment or in the certificate thereof, or when the official
character of the officer taking the acknowledgment has not
been stated in the body of the certificate or certified to, as
required by law, or when the conveyance has not been wit-
nessed and sealed, or any mortgage or assignment of mort-
gage defectively sworn to or not sworn to at all.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 151 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland, Session of 1916, entitled "An Act to make valid
deeds, mortgages, bonds of conveyances, bills of sale, and all
other conveyance of real and personal property, or of any in-
terest, defective in acknowledgment or in the certificate there-
of, or when the official character of the officer taking the
acknowledgment has not been certified to, as required by law,
or when the conveyance has not been witnessed and sealed, or
any mortgage or assignment of mortgage defectively sworn to
or not sworn to at all," be and the same are hereby repealed
and re-enacted so as to read as follows: All deeds, mortgages,
releases, bonds of conveyance, bills of sale, chattel mortgages,
and all other conveyances of real and personal property, or of
any interest therein which may have been executed, acknowl-
edged or recorded in the State subsequent to the passage of the
