Treasury not otherwise appropriated to build and construct the
road set forth in Section 1 of this Act, and to such lands as
may be necessary for the right of way.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1918.

CHAPTER 390.

AN ACT prohibiting the shipment, transportation, delivery
into, handling, distributing! and exposing for sale all spiritu-
ous, vinous, fermented, malt or intoxicating wines and
liquors or any mixture thereof containing alcohol, for bever-
age purposes, in Caroline County, except as herein provided,
and providing penalties for the violation of the same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That any person over the age of twenty-one years of age
shall be allowed to bring in not exceeding one quart of whiskey
or brandy, or twelve pints of beer per month, said beer not to
contain more than 2 1/4 per cent, of alcohol. The same to be
allowed to be investigated by the officers of the law of said
Caroline County.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall be unlawful for any individual, corpora-
tion, firm, partnership, club or association of individuals to
have shipped, in any manner whatsoever, into Caroline Coun-
ty, any spirituous, vinous, fermented, malt, or intoxicating
liquors, or any mixture thereof, containing alcohol, for bever-
age purposes, in any quantity whatsoever.

Any person, corporation, firm, partnership, club or associ-
ation of persons violating, the provisions of the above section
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall be fined not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor
more than fifty dollars ($50.00) for the first offense and each
and every additional offense not less than fifty ($50.00) nor
more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) and be imprisoned
in the Maryland House of Correction for a term not exceeding
six months; provided, however, that whenever this section is
violated by any corporation, firm, association or partnership
the individual member, or employee, who shall receive any of
the aforesaid wines or liquors in the name of the corporation,
