of the State Roads System, an improved concrete roadway
from the easterly bank of the Nanticoke River, at the Ferry
House, opposite the town of Vienna, to the end of the right
of way of the improved State Road from Salisbury to Mar-
dela Springs, 'and to pay the cost thereof out of any road-
building or road-maintenance funds at its disposal.
Whereas the route traversed by the proposed improved road
has been for scores of years the chief and natural source of
communication between the Counties of Maryland, commonly
known as the Eastern Shore, lying north and south of the
Nanticoke River, but at present is in an impassable and dan-
gerous condition; and

Whereas the construction of the said proposed improved
road will connect up the improved stone roads from Salisbury
to Mardela Springs, and from Vienna to Cambridge, thus re-
establishing a necessary and useful route of travel and com-
merce not only to those persons living upon the adjacent well
populated and very productive land, but also to the general
public of the State of Maryland; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the State Roads Commission of Maryland be and it
is hereby authorized and empowered as soon as practicable, to
build, construct and thereafter maintain, as a part of the State
Roads System, an improved concrete roadway from the East
Bank of the Nanticoke River, at the Ferry House opposite the
Town of Vienna, to the end of the right of way o± the State
Road from Salisbury to Mardela Springs, a distance of about
three and one-half miles.

SEC. 2. That for the purpose of carrying out the provisions
of this Act the State Roads Commission is hereby authorized
and directed to use any funds at its disposal for road building
or road maintenance.

CHAPTER 379.

AN ACT to amend Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Wicomico County," sub-title "Birds and Game,"
by adding thereto two new sections to be known as 2A and
2B, concerning the illegal killing of muskrats and providing
a penalty therefor.
