payment of the same, and shall have annual settlements with
the sheriff for the same upon the presentation of his accounts
for the same rendered upon the affidavit of the said sheriff.

CHAPTER 358.

AN ACT authorizing and empowering the County Commis-
sioners of Montgomery County to pay an indebtedness
amounting to Two Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars
($2,700.00), with accrued interest advanced by certain citi-
zens of said county for completing the improving and re-
locating of the Public Road known as "Muncaster Mill
Road," leading from Norbeck in said Montgomery County,
by way of Redland, to the improved road near Griffith's
Gate; and to levy a special tax in the First, Ninth, Eighth
and Fourth Election Districts of said County for the pay-
ment of said indebtedness; said tax to be levied and collected
in the following proportions, viz: six per centum of said
tax on the 1st Election District; six per centum theerof on
the 9th Election District; thirty per centum thereof on the
4th Election District and fifty-eight per centum thereof on
the 8th Election District.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery County,
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to pay an
indebtedness amounting to Two Thousand Seven Hundred
Dollars ($2,700.00), with accrued interest, advanced by. cer-
tain citizens of said county for the purpose of completing,
building, improving and relocating the Public Road from Nor-
beck in said Montgomery County, by way of Redland 'in said
County, to the new improved road at Griffith's Gate, said road
being partly in the 1st, 9th, 8th and 4th Election Districts
of said County; and to levy and collect a special tax in the year
Nineteen Hundred and Eighteen in the 1st, 9th, 8th and 4th
Election Districts of said County for the payment of said in-
debtedness as hereinbefore stated; said indebtedness being in-
curred with the knowledge of the County Commissioners of
said County and the money received therefrom having been
applied to the construction fund disbursed by the County Com-
missioners on account of their contract for the improvement
