CHAPTER 348.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 77 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Public Education," sub-title "The
State Superintendent of Schools," said section to be known
as Section 20-C and to follow immediately after Section
20-B, providing for pictorial or graphic representations for
instruction in certain subjects.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Public
Education," sub title "The State Superintendent of Schools,"
said section to be known as Section 20-C and to follow imme-
diately after Section 20-B and to read as follows:
20-C. The state superintendent of schools is hereby au-
thorized to furnish, by means of pictorial or graphic repre-
sentations, additional facilities for instruction in geography,
history, science and kindred subjects, to the schools, institu-
tions and organizations under the supervision of the State
Board of Education. Material collected for this purpose may,
under general rules, be lent for a limited time to responsible
institutions and organizations for the benefit of artisans, me-
chanics and other citizens of the several communities of the
State. He may from time to time enter into contracts neces-
sary for carrying out this provision.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1918.

CHAPTER 349.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 1 of
Article 76 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Pub-
lication of Laws," eliminating the provision requiring that
certain public general laws must be published in a news-
paper printed in the German language.
