deemed and considered as made upon the basis of eight hours
constituting a day's work, and it shall be unlawful for any
such person or persons or corporations to require or permit
any laborer, workman or mechanic to work more than eight
hours per calendar day in doing such work except in the cases
and upon the conditions provided in Section 216U1 of this
Act.
Section 216U3. And be it further enacted. That any offi-
cer or agent of the Road Directors of Allegany County, or the
said Board of Road Directors, or any person acting for or under
said Board, or an officer thereof or any contractor or sub-con-
tractor or other person acting for them, violating any of the
provisions of this sub-section, shall for each and every offense,
be fined not less than ten dollars nor more than fifty dollars
for each and every offense, one-half of such fine to go to the
informer, said fines to be collected as other fines are collected
by law.
Section 216U4. And be it further enacted, That this Act
shall take effect on and after June 1st, 1918.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 49 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title "Elections, " sub-title "Nominations, " as the
same was repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 124 of the Acts
of 1912 and Chapter 307 of the Acts of 1914; also to repeal
and re-enact with amendments Section 55 and to repeal Sec-
tion 56 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, title "Elections, " sub-title "Ballots, "
as the same were repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 124 of
the Acts of 1912 and Chapter 307 of the Acts of 1914; also
to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 58 and to
repeal Section 59 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Elections, " sub-title
"Ballots, " as the same were repealed and re-enacted by Chap-
ter 124 of the Acts of 1912 and Chapter 307 of the Acts of
1914.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 49 of Article 33 of the Anno-
tated Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title
