12. The Board shall provide adequate offices and rooms in
which to properly conduct the work and affaire of the Board
in the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland, and the
expenses thereof, as well as any other expenses incurred by said
Board in the necessary discharge of its duties, and also the sal-
aries of the members of the Board, which latter shall be two
thousand four hundred ($2,400.00) dollars per annum for each
member, shall be paid by the State "in the manner provided by
law.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after October 1, 1918.

CHAPTER 310.
AN ACT to provide that $2,000 of the sum of $10,000 appro-
priated from the general treasury of the State by the Act of
1916, Chapter 251 for the purpose of building a hospital in
Charles County to be known as the Southern Maryland Emer-
gency Hospital, upon the conditions therein set forth, shall,
instead of being applied to the building of said hospital, be
applied to the establishment of a central colored industrial
school in Charles County, in accordance with the provisions of
this Act; and providing also for the payment of the remainder
of the cost and expense of establishing said central colored in-
dustrial school, over and above the $2,000 to be paid by the
State as aforesaid, which remainder shall not exceed the sum
of $1,000, by levy upon the taxable property of Charles
County.

CHAPTER 311.
AN ACT to provide that $8,000 of the sum of $10,000 appro-
priated from the general treasury of the State by the Act
of 1916, Chapter 251, for the purpose of building a hospital
in Charles County, to be known as the Southern Maryland
Emergency Hospital, upon the conditions therein set forth,
shall, instead of being applied to the building of said hos-
pital, be applied to the acquisition of land for and the con-
struction, equipment and establishment of a High School
