per school year. Provided, if such teacher holds a first-grade
State certificate of the first class, and has taught eleven years
in the public schools of Allegany County, such teacher shall
receive a salary of not less than seven hundred dollars
($700.00) per school year. Provided, if such teacher holds a
first-grade State certificate of the first class, and has taught
fifteen years in the public schools of Allegany County, such*
teacher shall receive a salary of not less than seven hundred
and fifty dollars ($750.00) per school year.

SEC. 11. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the principals of colored public high schools of
Allegany County shall not receive a salary of less than eight
hundred and fifty dollars ($850.00) per school year.

SEC. 12. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That all teachers of Allegany County having a second-
class certificate of the above mentioned grades, shall receive a
salary of not less than fifty ($50) dollars less than the salary
hereinabove provided for teachers having a first-class certifi-
cate in such grades.

SEC. 13. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Allegany County are
hereby authorized and required at their next annual levy and
annually thereafter to levy such sum or sums, upon the request
of the County Superintendent of Schools for Allegany County,
as shall be necessary to meet the increase of salaries above
provided for, in addition to the money which the said County
Commissioners of Allegany County are now required by law
to levy for teachers' salaries, and that said County Commis-
sioners of Allegany County shall pay said money over to the
Board of Education of Allegany County for the purpose set
forth in this Act.

'SEC. 14. And b& it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed in so far as
they apply to Allegany County.
