such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than six hundred
and fifty dollars ($650.00) per school year.

SEC. 9. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That no teacher of colored children holding a second-
grade State certificate of the first class shall receive a salary
of less than four hundred and fifty dollars ($450.00) per
school year. Provided, if such teacher holds a second-grade
State certificate of the first class, and has taught three years
in the public schools of Allegany County, such teacher shall
receive a salary of not less than five hundred dollars ($500.00)
per school year. Provided, if such teacher holds a second-
grade State certificate of the first class, and has taught five
years in the public schools of Allegany County, such teacher
shall receive a salary of not less than five hundred and fifty
dollars ($550.00) per school year. Provided, if such teacher
holds a second-grade State certificate of the first class, and has
taught eight years in the public schools of Allegany County,
such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than six hundred
dollars ($600.00) per school year. Provided, if such teacher
holds a second-grade State certificate of the first class, and has
taught eleven years in the public schools of Allegany County,
such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than six hundred
and fifty dollars ($650.00) per school year. Provided, if such
teacher holds a second-grade State certificate of the firsi class,
and has taught fifteen years in the public schools of Allegany
County, such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than
seven hundred dollars ($700.00) per school year.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That no teacher of colored children holding a first-
grade State certificate of the first class shall receive a salary
of less than five hundred dollars ($500.00) per school year.
Provided, if such teacher holds a first-grade State certificate of
the first class, and has .taught three years in the public schools
of Allegany County, such teacher shall receive a salary of not
less than five hundred and fifty dollars ($550.00) per school
year. Provided, if such teacher holds a first-grade State cer-
tificate of the first class, and has taught five years in the public
schools of Allegany County, such teacher shall receive a salary
of not less than six hundred dollars ($600.00) per school
year. Provided, if such teacher holds a first-grade State cer-
tificate of the first class, and has taught eight years in the pub-
lic schools of Allegany County, such teacher shall receive a
salary of not less than six hundred and fifty dollars ($650.00)
