CHAPTER 215.

AN ACT to pay to the School Commissioners of Garrett
County the sum of four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) on
the first day oi June, 1918, out of the proceeds of the State
School Tax.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he hereby
is authorized and directed to draw his warrant upon the
Treasurer in favor of the Garrett County School Board for the
sum of'four thousand dollars ($4,000.00), the same to be paid
on the first day of June, 1918, out of the proceeds of the State
School Tax; provided, however, that no portion of the said
four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) shall be used for any other
purpose than for salaries and ordinary running expenses of
said schools.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on and after June 1st, 1918.

Approved April 10th, 1918.

CHAPTER 216.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
7-F of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title
"Governor," so as to provide that the Advisory Board of
Parole shall investigate and determine the advisability of
recommending the conditional pardon of persons sentenced
for longer than one year, to the Maryland Penitentiary and
the Maryland House of Correction upon the expiration of
one-third of the term for which each of such persons has
been sentenced.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland., That Section 7-F of Article 41 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Governor," be and the same is here-
by repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as
follows:

7-F. It shall be the duty of said Board to collect all infor-
mation that may aid it in determining the advisability of rec-
ommending to the Governor the conditional pardon of any per-
son sentenced under the laws of Maryland, and whenever said
