the purchasing of additional fire equipment for said town, and
if any part of the proceeds of sale of said Bonds be left over
after the purchasing of said Fire Equipment, the said amount
is to be turned over to the Treasurer of said Town to be used
by the said Commissioners of Chestertown in improving the
Street of said Chestertown.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That at the next regular elec-
tion for Commissioners of Chestertown, there shall be submitted
to the qualified voters of Chestertown the question whether
bonds shall be issued for said additional fire equipment and at
such election the ballots cast upon such question shall have the
words "For Additional Fire Equipment, " or "Against Addi-
ditional Fire Equipment" thereon, and if a majority of the
votes cast upon said question shall be "For Additional Fire
Equipment, " then the Commissioners of Chestertown or a ma-
jority of them, shall proceed to execute the power vested in
them by this Act, but if the majority of votes cast shall be
"Against Additional Fire Equipment, " then this Act shall be
of no effect.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Bill shall be
declared an emergency law as it is necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety of Chestertown,
Kent County, Maryland.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 173.
AN ACT to add an additional section to Article 18 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled "Queen Anne's
County", sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables",
to follow Section 187 of said Article 18, and to be known as
Section 187A, and to repeal all other laws or parts or sections
of all other laws so far as the same may conflict or may be in-
consistent with the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That an additional Section be and the same is hereby
added to Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, entitled "Queen Anne's County", sub-title "Justices of
