of Carroll County, at Manchester, Carroll County, a body
corporate, to the Board of Education of Carroll County, a
body corporate, for the purpose of enlarging and maintaining
a high school in the said town of Manchester in and for the
benefit of the Sixth Election District of said County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the trustees of the Manchester Academy of Carroll
County, at Manchester, Carroll County, a body corporate, or a
majority of them, be and they are hereby authorized to convey
to the Board of Education of Carroll County, a body corporate,
in fee simple and absolutely, all its real and personal property
in the town of Manchester, Carroll County, in the State of
Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the trustees of Man-
chester Academy of Carroll County, at Manchester, in Carroll
County, or a majority of them, are hereby authorized to give
and set over to the use of the Board of Education of Carroll
County, all money, investments, bonds, if there be such, and
rents accruing when this Act takes effect, for the purpose of
defraying in part the cost of renovating the present Academy
building and furnishing the same.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That since the said Man-
chester Academy of Carroll County has failed to comply with
conditions for which it. was incorporated since the year eighteen
hundred and seventy and has not been in successful operation
since that time, and is now leased by the Board of Education
of Carroll County for the purpose of conducting a high school,
all powers, rights and authority, heretofore vested in the said
trustees of the Manchester Academy of Carroll County, the
legal corporate successors to the original trustees mentioned in
the Act Revived (Act of 1882) and in the Act of incorporation
(Acts of 1828, 1829, Chap. 100) shall be transferred and con-
veyed to the Board of Education of Carroll County; that said
Board of Education may, if it a£ any time sees fit, merge said
property into its other property adjacent to it, for the purpose
of enlarging or rebuilding, in order to provide adequate school
facilities for the Sixth Election District, and the said Board of
Education of Carroll County shall hold said real and personal
property in fee simple and absolutely.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be and the
same are hereby repealed.
