any municipal election, except by the use of an official ballot,
as above prescribed.

Any person desiring to have his own name or that of any other
person printed on the official ballot as a candidate for any office
at any ensuing election may do so by applying to the Clerk to
the Mayor and Council of Crisfield at least twenty (20) days
before the election and paying to him, the sum of ten ($10. 00)
dollars, in the ease of a candidate for Mayor, and two ($2. 00)
dollars, in the case of a candidate for Councilman; in which case
said name shall appear printed on said official ballot and not
otherwise.

Any person violating any of the provisions in this section or
neglecting the performance of any duty imposed thereby, shall
be subject to a fine of not less than ten ($10. 00) dollars nor more
than one hundred ($100. 00) dollars for each and every offense.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 164.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact Section 42-A of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Allegany County, "
sub-title '' County Treasurer and Taxes, V as enacted by Chap-
ter 358 of the Acts of 1914, changing the bonds of the Tax
Collectors of Allegany County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 42-A of the Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Allegany County", sub-title "County Treasurer and
Taxes, '' as enacted by Chapter 358 of the Acts of 1914, changing
the bond of the Tax Collectors for Allegany County, be and the
'same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so
as to read as follows:

42-A. The Tax Collectors for each of said Tax Collection Dis-
tricts shall have been bona fide residents of the several collection
districts for which they shall have been appointed for at least
five years before their appointment, and shall be at least twenty-
five years of age, and shall not be related directly or collaterally
within the third degree, (nor married to anyone so related, ) to
any member of the Board of County Commissioners, making
such appointment; and the said Collectors shall not be eligible
