adopt, and the County Commissioners of Caroline County shall
pay ail costs of printing and distributing said reports.
SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of
showing the true and financial condition of the County at the
time of making the audit as provided in the preceding sections,
the Clerk of the County Commissioners of Caroline County
shall endorse on all claims or accounts against the County the
date when the same are presented, and shall also enter in a well-
bound book to be kept for that purpose said claims or accounts,
showing the name of the creditor, the date when such claim is
presented, and the character and amount thereof, and also the
date said claim or account is passed by said Commissioners, and
the amount allowed by them.; and it shall not be lawful for the
said Clerk to allow or permit any account or claim presented
against said County to be taken out of his office until the same
has been entered as hereinbefore prescribed.
SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That all acts or parts
of acts of the General Assembly of Maryland and all sections
or parts of Articles of the Code of Public General or Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland inconsistent herewith be and
the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 10. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1918.

CHAPTER 159.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with an amendment, Section
239 of Article 20, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, as amended by Chapter 148 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1914, title "Somerset County", sub-
title "Sheriff", relating to the allowance to be made by the
County Commissioners of Somerset County to the Sheriff of
said County, for the keeping of prisoners committed to his
care.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 239 of Article 20, of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, as amended by Chapter 148 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland of 1914, title " Somerset
