election district of Anne Arundel County, owing to the exces-
sive number of scholars attending said several schools are un-
able to accommodate the same.
And whereas in order to have proper accommodations for
the scholars attending said several schools it is necessary that
additions shall be made thereto.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following citizens are hereby appointed a build-
ing committee in the order following: Severna Park, Edwin
E. Samuels, F. G. Wood; Germantown, Walter Myers, F. J.
Gelhaus; West Annapolis, Alvin Oaksmith, J. Clifton Bosley;
Mayo, William N. Collison, William. Witt; Jacobsville, Marma-
duke Hamilton, H. N. Bassford. And in connection, with these
several parties aforementioned George Fox, County Superin-
tendent for Anne Arundel County, shall act as a member of each
of said committees, two members of said committee shall form
a quorum for the decision of all questions which may arise in
discharge of their duties. But before giving out contracts for
the improvements of aforesaid the said several committees shall
furnish plans and specifications which they shall submit to the
school commissioners of Anne Arundel County for their ap-
proval.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That immediately after the pas-
sage of this Act, of the sum hereby appropriated or ordered to
be appropriated for the improvement of said school buildings,
it shall be the duty of said school commissioners to show what
portion of sum so as to clearly designate how much thereof shall
be expended by said schools respectively.
SEC. 3. That when the said respective building committees
shall notify the school commissioners that they are ready to
begin and complete the said work and shall file with said com-
missioners plans and specifications for the erection of said im-
provements and the said school commissioners shall then in-
vite sealed proposals by advertisement for a reasonable time
for the construction and completion of said improvements which
proposals shall be sent in sealed envelopes in care of the school
examiner for Anne Arundel County, addressed to the said
school commissioners and shall be publicly opened on a day and
hour named in said advertisement; said proposals shall set
forth the amount of money for which the party proposing will
complete the said improvements according to the specifications,
and the time or times at which said payment shall be made and
