SEC. 2. It shall not be lawful for any corporation, co-
partnership or individual to sell or otherwise dispose of any
such seed for planting purposes.

SEC. 2A. The provisions of this Act shall not be interpreted
as preventing the use or preservation of any edible materials
produced in connection with a crop grown for legitimate seed
purposes.

SEC. 3. Whoever shall violate the provisions of this Act
shall be liable, upon conviction, to a fine of not less than fifty
nor more than one hundred dollars for the first offense and to
a fine of not less than one hundred nor more than five hundred
dollars for each subsequent offense.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect and be in force from,
and after the 1st day of June, 1918.

CHAPTER 114.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 44
of Chapter 566 of the Acts of 1890, title "Garrett County, "
sub-title "County Treasurer. "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 4A of Chapter 566 of the Acts of 1890,
title "Garrett County, " sub-title "County Treasurer, " be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:

Section 44. The County Commissioners shall provide and
furnish the Treasurer an office in the Court House Building,
in the town of Oakland, which office shall be plainly designated
by external sign as the office of the County Treasurer; and it
shall be the duty of the Treasurer to keep his said office open
from nine o'clock in the forenoon until three o'clock in the
afternoon, and to attend therein for the transaction of business
by person or by deputy, on every day of the week, except Sun-
day and legal holidays.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of June, 1918.
