Section 20. This Act may be cited as the Uniform Small
Loan Law.

(a) This Act shall be so interpreted and construed as to
effectuate its general remedial purpose and to make uniform
the laws of those States which enact it.

Section 21. Chapters 835 and 836 of the Acts of 1912,
Bagby's Annotated Code, Article 49, Section 7, and Article
56, Sections 21A to 21C, inclusive, and all Acts inconsistent
with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Approved March 28th, 1918.

CHAPTER 89.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 429, 432 and 435 of the Revised
Code of the Public Local Laws of Baltimore County, Edi-
tion of 1915, as legalized by An Act of the Legislature at
its Session of 1916, title "Racing Commission, " and to
re-enact the same with amendments, and providing that no
intoxicating drinks shall be sold on the Agricultural Fair
Grounds at Timonium and White Hall or any place whereat
exhibits or races are held, and providing for increasing the
license fees for holding races, and for penalties for the vio-
lation of the provisions of this Act by the Baltimore County
Racing Commission.

SECTION 1. Be tit enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 429, 432 and 435 of the Revised Code of
the Public Local Laws of Baltimore County, Edition of 1915,
as legalized by an Act of the Legislature at its Session of
1916, title "Racing Commission, " be and the same are hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments; and providing that
no intoxicating drinks shall be sold on the Agricultural Fair
Grounds at Timonium and White Hall or any place whereat
exhibits or races are held; said sections to read as follows:

Section 429. The salary of the secretary, the rental of
offices and other expenses of the commission shall be paid by
the commission out of the license fees hereinafter provided for,
but such salary, rental fees and other expenses shall in no
event exceed the sum of eighteen hundred dollars ($1800. 00)
a year, not more than fifteen hundred dollars ($1500. 00) of
which shall be paid for clerical and legal services.
