more for three successive weeks for bids for publication of
said book, and shall award the same to the lowest responsible
bidder. The County Commissioners shall levy the amount of
said bid, after such Code has been approved by the Judges of
the Circuit Court for said county, printed and delivered to the
Commissioners. At any time after the receipt of the said
book upon demand, the Commissioners shall deliver free of
cost one to each justice of the peace of Frederick County and
a copy each to the Judges of the Circuit Court, and one copy
each to the State Senator and each delegate in 1918 from Fred-
erick County, to the State's Attorney, to the State Librarian,
to the Clerk of the Circuit Court, and to the Register of Wills,
and shall sell the residue of said books to any person applying
for the same at a price per book not less than twenty per cent,
above the cost of printing and binding such book, this price
to be in no case less than two dollars and fifty cents ($2. 50).
The sum received from such sales shall be turned into the
general fund of the county.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the first of June, 1918.

CHAPTER 88.
AN ACT to license and regulate the business of making loans
in sums of three hundred dollars ($300) or less, at a greater
rate of interest than six (6) per centum per annum; prohibit-
ing false or misleading statements with regard to loans in
amounts of three hundred ($300) dollars or less; prescrib-
ing the maximum rate of interest and charge therefor and
the penalties for violation of this Act; regulating the assign-
ment of wages or salaries, earned or to be earned, when
