SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Code of Public Local Laws of Frederick
County, Maryland, as prepared and arranged by George R.
Dennis, Jr., Esquire, and submitted to and approved by the
Judges of the Circuit Court for said county, be and the same
is hereby legalized and shall be deemed and taken in all
Courts of this State and by all justices of the peace of this
State and by all public officers of this State, to be evidence of
the Public Local Laws of Frederick County, of the State of
Maryland, as now contained in Article XI of the Code of
Public Local Laws of 1888, entitled "Frederick County" and
the Public Local Laws applicable to said county passed subse-
quent thereto, provided, that before the same be published the
Public Local Laws applicable to Frederick County be incorpo-
rated therein as enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
at its January session of 1918.
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That the County Commissioners of
Frederick County are hereby authorized to employ George R.
Dennis, Jr., or any other member or members of the bar of
said county as they may see fit, to add to said Code and to
incorporate in said codification when published, the Acts, of
1918 applicable to Frederick County, and to prepare a com-
prehensive index to the said Code, and for such work in con-
nection therewith and for supervising the publication of said
Code the said George R. Dennis, Jr., or any other attorney or
attorneys so employed shall be paid reasonable compensation
not to exceed three hundred dollars in all, to be levied by the
County Commissioners and paid when pointed copies of said
Code, as hereinafter provided for, are delivered to said Com-
missioners.
SEC. 3. Be it enacted, That when the Acts of 1918, as here-
inbefore provided for, have been incorporated in said Code the
County Commissioners shall cause to be published two hun-
dred copies thereof, preserving therein the indices, reference
to statutes, chapters and section headings, reference to the deci-
sions of the Court of Appeals and all other recitals of refer-
ence therein contained.
The size of type and size of page and quality of paper to
be the same as the published book of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1918. The manner of such publication shall be
as follows: The County Commissioners upon the receipt of the
said Code codified as herein directed shall advertise in at
least one newspaper published in Frederick and one in Balti-
