ditioned to truly and faithfully discharge, execute and perform
all and singular the duties and obligations of the office of
Justice of the Peace of the Traffic Court, and that he will
account for and pay over to the Commissioner of Motor Vehi-
cles all fines, penalties, forfeitures and fees which he is bound
to account for and pay over to said Commissioner of Motor
Vehicles. The Board of Police Commissioners for the City of
Baltimore shall designate two or more members of the police
force of the rank of sergeant to attend the Traffic Court herein
provided and to execute the powers and directions of the Jus-
tice appointed thereto. In addition to the number of station-
house clerks now provided for by law, said Board of Police
Commissioners is hereby authorized and directed to employ
such number of additional clerks as may be necessary to prop-
erly keep the dockets and records of arrests and convictions.
Such records shall be kept in such form and under such plan
as may be jointly agreed upon by the Commissioner of Motor
Vehicles and the Justice of the Peace of the Traffic Court.
Salaries paid to police sergeants and clerks designated for duty
in the traffic court shall be paid by the Board of Police Com-
missioners out of funds received for that purpose from the
Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. The Governor shall also
appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, and
if the Senate shall not be in session then the Governor shall
appoint, from the City of Baltimore at large, an additional
Justice of the Peace who shall be a member of the bar of the
Supreme Beach of Baltimore City, who shall receive a salary
of five hundred dollars ($500. 00) per annum, payable quar-
terly, and whose jurisdiction, duties and powers shall be the
same as those conferred upon and required of the Justice of
the Peace of the Traffic Court, and who shall be designated by
the Governor to sit in said Court in the absence by illness or
otherwise, and at other times, upon the request of and in the
place of the said Justice of the Peace of the Traffic Court;
provided that the justice so designated shall not be required to
give bond in a sum greater than that required of other justices
of the peace by Section 624 of Article 4 of the Code of Public
