for the purpose of buying, selling, lending upon mortgages,
leasing or otherwise dealing in real or leasehold estate, to buy,
hold or lend upon United States bonds and bonds of the State
of Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon
a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the mem-
bers elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assem-
bly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 29.
AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to sundry bequests contained in the
last Will and Testament of John Black, late of Baltimore
City, in the State of Maryland, deceased.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the sanction and consent of the General As-
sembly of Maryland be, and the same is hereby, given, granted
and declared to the bequests contained in the last Will and
Testament of John Black, late of Baltimore City, deceased,
to the Rector, Wardens and Vestry of the Protestant Episcopal
Church of the Ascension of Baltimore, Maryland, and to the
Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Diocese
of Maryland; said last Will and Testament bearing date the
Second day of August, 1909, and recorded in the office of the
Register of Wills of Baltimore City, in Liber H. W. J. No,
124, folio 11, etc.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
