EMERSON C. HARRINGTON, GOVERNOR. 45

with provisions of Article 33A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, and any amendments thereto, any lands or other property,
real or personal, or interest therein, together with any improve-
ments thereon, which the Board, with the approval of the Gov-
ernor, may find necessary or desirable for the purpose of estab-
lishing and maintaining a State farm, or for any other purpose
that may be appropriate to the needs of the institutions under
the jurisdiction of the said Board.

629B. If a State farm is so established, then it shall be the
duty of the State Board of Prison Control to cause to work
upon such farm as many of the prisoners confined in the insti-
tutions under its jurisdiction as are physically able to work
thereon and as are available for such work.

629C. The Governor of the State may from time to time,
at the request of the authorities having control and jurisdiction
over the jail of any other town or city or of any county in this
State, assign to work upon said farm as many- of the prisoners
confined in the jails under their respective jurisdiction as are
physically able to work on said farm and as are available for
such work.

629D. The State Board of Prison Control shall provide
for the guarding, transportation, lodging, feeding, clothing
and medical and other care and attention of all such prisoners,
or make such arrangements therefor as it may deem adequate
and proper; and may make such rules and regulations as may
be necessary or proper to carry out the provisions of this Act,

629E. The State Board of Prison Control may set aside
for each prisoner working upon said State farm, such sum
as it may deem proper, not exceeding, however, the sum of
fifty cents per day for each and every day that such prisoner
is so employed; and the Board may hold such payments to the
credit of the prisoner for whose account the same are made,
and pay the same to him or her upon his or her release or dis-
charge; or the said Board may, in its discretion, from time to
time, pay such portion of said payments as it may deem
proper to any person or persons who are dependent upon said
prisoner, if found to be in need by the said Board, and hold
the balance of such payments to the credit of the prisoner.
