CHAPTER 15.

AN ACT to add nine additional sections to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Crimes and Punish-
ments," sub-title "III. Places of Reformation and Punish-
ment," sub-head "The State Board of Prison Control," as
the sections composing said sub-head were enacted by Chap-
ter 556 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1916, said additional sections to follow immediately after
Section 629 of said Article and sub-head, to be numbered,
respectively, 629A, 629B, 629C, 629D, 629E, 629F, 629G,
629H, 629 I and 629J; the same conferring the power of
condemnation upon the State Board of Prison Control; pro-
viding for the acquisition, establishment and maintenance
of a State Farm for Prison Labor, and the assignment to
work thereon of prisoners confined in the institutions under
the jurisdiction of the State Board of Prison Control and
in the several city, town and county jails, and providing for
their compensation, guarding, transportation, care, atten-
tion, discipline and punishment for escape or attempted
escape.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That nine additional sections be and the same hereby
are added to Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
title "Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "III. Places of Re-
formation and Punishment," sub-head "The State Board of
Prison Control," as the sections composing said sub-head were
enacted by Chapter 556 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1916, said additional sections to follow imme-
diately after Section 629 of said Article and sub-head, to be
numbered, respectively, 629A, 629B, 629C, 629D, 629E,
629F, 629G, 629H and 629 I, and to read as follows:

629A. The State Board of Prison Control is authorized
and empowered to acquire by gift, devise, bequest, purchase,
lease or in any other way, or by condemnation in accordance
