Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset
County," sub-title "Crisfield," to follow section 66, and to be
numbered and designated as sections 66B and 66C.
66B. The Commissioners of Crisfleld shall have authority to
grant franchises upon such terms as they- may prescribe, to any
person or persons or corporation, to establish a water works
system in the town of Crisfield, and to lay water mains under
the streets of said town, and to convey water through pipes
under the sidewalks of said town to residences and other
buildings.
66c. That if the Commissioners of Crisfield shall at any time
hereafter, by virtue of competent authority, sell the water works
system now owned and .operated by the town of Crisfield, then
the said the Commissioners of Crisfield be, and they are hereby
authorized to contract with any person, persons of corporation
to furnish water for the protection of the property in said town
against damage and destruction by fire, upon such terms and
for such length of time as may be agreed upon.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 648.
AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of Crisfield to sell the
water works system now owned and operated by the town of
Crisfield at a sum not less than twenty thousand dollars, and
in the event of a sale to direct the said the Commissioners of
Crisfield to use so much of the purchase money as may be
necessary in creating a sinking fund for the redemption of the
bonded indebtedness of said town, when the same matures,
and to use the balance of the purchase money in public im-
provements in said town.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Commissioners of Crisfield be and they are here-
by authorized to sell the water works system now owned and
operated by the town of Crisfield at a sum not less than twenty
thousand dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That in the event of such
sale the Commissioners of Crisfield shall use so much of the pur-
chase money as may be necessary in creating a sinking fund for
the redemption of the bonded indebtedness of the said town,
when the same matures, and shall use the balance of the raid
purchase money in public improvements in said town.
