SOMERSET COUNTY.

CHAPTER 630.
AN ACT to require persons engaged in the business of catching
crabs in Somerset county to take out licenses, and providing
for the issuance of same, and providing for applying the re-
ceipts therefrom to the building and support of the public
schools of said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That any resident of Somerset county desiring to catch
crabs for sale in any of the waters of said county shall first
obtain, by application to the clerk of the Circuit Court for said
county, a separate license for every person to be employed in
said business, and such license shall have effect for one year
from the date on which it is issued; provided, that boys under
ten years of age shall not be required to license.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That each and every license issued
in conformity with the provisions of section 1 of this article
shall state the name, color and residence of the person to whom
the license is to be granted, the number thereof, and every appli-
cant for such license shall pay to the clerk of the Circuit Court
of Somerset county, when such license may be granted and be-
fore the issuing and delivery of the same, the sum of one dollar
and fifty cents ($1.50), except boys under ten years of age. The
said clerk to receive twenty-five cents for each and every such
license as a fee for issuing the same, including administering
the oath when required. Nine-tenths of the amount received for
such license shall be paid by the clerk to the treasurer of the
Board of County Commissioners of Somerset county, to be ap-
plied by him to the building and support of the public schools
in said county, in the following manner, that is to say; all sums
so received for such licenses issued to residents of Crisfield, As-
bury and Lawson's Election districts, in said county, shall be
applied toward the payment of certain bonds issued, or to be
issued, for the purpose of building a new high school at Cris-
