ing judges and clerks shall select the same so as to give each
side an equal representation, so far as practicable in their dis-
cretion, and shall publish the list of judges and clerks in at
least two newspapers at least two weeks prior to the day of
election, and shall consider any protest made to them, and in
their discretion make removal and new appointment, as in case
of death or declination; the judges of election shall receive
two dollars per day each and the clerks the same amount, to be
paid by Prince George's county; and at least ten days before
said day of election the Supervisors of Election shall publish
a copy of this Act and a sample ballot for public information
in at least three newspapers in said county; and it shall be the
duty of said Supervisors of Election to have surveyed or prop-
erly designated on a plat or plats the portions of the eighth
district, ninth district, thirteenth district, sixteenth district
and seventeenth district where prohibition now prevails or will
prevail at the time of the election, that the judges of election
may ascertain what registered voters of the respective dis-
tricts are entitled to vote under this Act, and who are not so
permitted to vote; which plats and information shall be fur-
nished by the Supervisors of Election to the judges of election,
through the sheriff at the time the ballots, ballot-boxes, regis-
tration books, etc., are furnished; the registration books being
the same used at the last general election.
SEC. 4. At the close of said election, the judges of election
shall in the manner provided by the general law proceed to
count said ballots publicly and canvass the vote, make out the
return, and under their hands certify the result of the said
election in accordance as far as practicable with the general
law, and shall within three days return to the Supervisors of
Election the poll books, registration books, tally sheets, etc.,
as ordinarily required, and shall also within three days deliver
to the clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince George's county, a
certificate of the result in each of their respective districts,
under their hand, attested by the clerks, and the said clerk of
the Court shall forthwith file and record said certificate, and he
shall at once issue a proclamation declaring the result of said
election, and publish the same in one or more newspapers; but
a failure to issue said proclamation shall not affect this Act
or operate to prevent its taking affect, and the original certifi-
cates of the judges of election, copies thereof, or the said
proclamation, or a copy thereof, shall be sufficient evidence of
the adoption of this Act in any action civil or criminal.
SEC. 5. That should it be found that in the aformentioned
districts and portions of districts that a majority of votes have
