952 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

sand dollars to repair and enlarge the electric light plant of
said town, and pay the debts contracted, or contract for light,
as hereinbefore provided, at a special election to be held in
the City Hall in said town, after the same notice and upon the
same conditions and requirements as set forth for the special
election above provided for on the question of issuing bonds
for sewers and drainage, and for extending the water system;
which said special election shall be held at such times after
the passage of this Act, upon the petition to the said Mayor and
City Council of not less than one hundred of the legally quali-
fied voters of said town, not later than twenty days after the
filing of such petitions, or at any time without such petition
in the discretion of the said Mayor and City Council; and
any special election held to determine whether bonds shall be
issued in the amounts and for the purposes hereinbefore set
forth shall be held under the provisions of the Act of Assembly
of 1904, chapter 111, in so far as the same do not conflict with
this Act; and that the certificate of the Mayor of said town of
Laurel as to the holding of such special election or elections,
and of the results thereof, shall be sufficient evidence to the
purchaser or purchasers of said bonds of the legality and the
result of the said election or elections; provided, that no vote
shall be submitted for the issuing of sewerage bonds until
after April 1, 1909, and no bonds for sewers issued until after
that time.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That at any special election held
to determine whether or not bonds shall be issued for the pur-
pose of the construction, erection and maintenance of a sew-
erage and drainage system in said town, the ballots shall have
printed on them the words "For Sewers," and the words
"Against Sewers," and all voters desiring to vote for the pro-
visions of this Act relative to sewers shall place a cross (X)
mark in the square to the right of the words "For Sewers,"
and all persons desiring to vote against the provisions of this
Act relative to sewers shall place a cross (X) mark in the
square to the right of the words "Against Sewers," and if the
judges of election shall decide that a majority of the votes
cast are "For Sewers" then this Act, so far as it relates to
sewers, shall be in full force of law, otherwise of none effect;
and that any special election held to determine whether or not
bonds shall be issued for the purpose of providing electric
lights in said town the ballots shall have printed on them the
words "For Light" and the words "Against Light," and all
voters desiring to vote for the provisions of this Act relative
to light and water shall place a cross (X) mark in the square
to the right of the words "For Light," and all persons desiring
