said stenographer shall not be compelled to take such notes when
the said court is sitting as a court of equity.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 619.

AN ACT to add certain new sections to article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "Prince George's County," sub-
title "Clerk," subject, "Recording of Plats," to follow section
85, and to be designated as sections 85A, 85B, 85C, 85D, 85B,
85F, 85G, 85H and 85I.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That certain new sections be and the same are hereby
added to article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Prince George's County," sub-title "Clerk," subject, "Recording
of Plats," to follow section 85, and to be designated as sections
85A, 85B, 85C, 85D, 85B, 85F, 85G, 85H and 85I.

SEC. 85A. Whenever the owner or owners of lands in Prince
George's county shall sub-divide their lands for town villa sites,
streets, lanes or alleys, and shall desire for purposes of descrip-
tion and identification a plat of said sub-division to be recorded
among the land records of said county or whenever any street,
avenue, public roads, lane or alley shall be acquired by con-
demnation or otherwise by the County Commissioners of said
county, the clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince George's
county is hereby directed to receive and record same as herein-
after directed, but said clerk shall not receive for record, nor
allow to be recorded in his office any such plat, until the re-
quirements of the succeeding sections of this Act shall have
been complied with,

SEC. 85B. Such plats shall be made or drawn upon tracing
linen or parchment of the uniform size of eighteen inches by
twenty-four inches, shall contain the directions and distance
of all lines drawn thereon or such of them as will enable each
lot, block, avenue, lane or alley thereof to be accurately de-
scribed by metes and bounds, courses and distances, calculated
to the time meridian, there shall be endorsed upon each of such
plats, a certificate of the surveyor making the same, that the
lots or blocks and squares therein indicated are a part of the
whole lands conveyed to the maker of a plat by a deed or con-
veyance, of which the date and place of record shall be given;
that the lines of said sub-division do not conflict" with the lines
