"Crier," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as
to read as follows:
SEC. 67. The crier of the Circuit Court for Montgomery
county shall be entitled to and receive as a salary the sum of
three hundred and sixty dollars per annum, payable in sums of
thirty dollars per month, which shall be in full and lieu of the
Allowances now authorized by law, and the Commissioners of
Montgomery county are authorized and directed, at their next
meeting for making the county levy, and annually thereafter,
to levy on the assessable property in said county, for the use
of the crier, such sum of money as shall be sufficient for the
payment of said salary of said crier.
SEC. 2, And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 135.
AN ACT providing for the taxation of dogs in Montgomery
county, and creating a fund out of which owners of domes-
tic fowls and animals killed or injured by dogs may be reim-
bursed for the loss of the same, and furnishing revenue for
the macadamizing of public roads in said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary
land, That all owners of dogs upwards of six months old, in
Montgomery county, shall pay to the county an annual tax
of one dollar for each male dog and two dollars for each female
dog, except keepers of kennels, who shall pay a kennel license
of ten dollars per annum for less than twenty-five dogs, between
25 and 50 dogs twenty-five dollars. The dog tax collector shall
issue a kennel license, which shall specify the name of the
owner, name of kennel and keeper of same; and any dog kept
or straying about the premises of any person, with his knowl-
edge, whether such person be the owner or only the occupant
of said premises, shall be deemed, for the purpose of this sec-
tion, the property of said person; and the tax imposed by this
section shall be due and payable on the first day of January of
each year, and shall be payable within the first thirty days
of each year.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That it rshall be the duty of the
County Commissioners to provide the constables of the county
in their respective districts, with suitable metal tags, having
stamped on one side the number thereof and on the other side
the year for which they are to be used, to be worn on the necks
