cute and deliver to said County Commissioners a good and suffi-
cient bond with such surety or sureties as may be approved by
them, in the penalty of five thousand ($5,000) dollars, con-
ditioned for the faithful performance of his duties as clerk to
the said County Commissioners, which said bond shall be re-
corded in the office of the clerk of the Circuit Court for said
county, and a copy thereof duly certified by said clerk, shall
be evidence in any court in this State; and should said clerk
fail to execute such bond as aforesaid, within thirty days after
he shall have been appointed, or should said office at any time
become vacant by reason of death, resignation or otherwise, the
said County Commissioners shall, within fifteen days there-
after, proceed to fill the same by the appointment of some such
suitable person for the remainder of the term for which said
appointment shall have been made, and such appointee shall in
like manner make oath and execute a bond for the performance
of his duties in the manner and within the time aforesaid.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 369.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 45A
of article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Howard
County," sub-title "County Commissioners and County Col-
lectors," as amended by the laws of 1904, chapter 304, so as
to read as follows:
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, That section 45A of article 14 of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Howard County," sub-
title "County Commissioners," as amended by the laws of 1904,
chapter 304, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments so as to read as follows:
45A. The County Commissioners of Howard county may
receive sealed proposals for all printing and advertisements
necessary for any election held in Howard county, and the
proposals shall be opened and read aloud in public by the
County Commissioners, and shall remain on file in their office
and open to the inspection of the public. The contract for sup-
plying during the ensuing year the printed notices and news-
paper advertisements shall thereupon be awarded by the County
Commissioners to the lowest responsible bidder for the same,
who shall be required to do the work connected therewith, and
as required by the County Commissioners of the officers of
