same manner as prescribed by the existing charter of the city
of Havre de Grace.

CHAPTER 540.

AN ACT to provide for the appropriation by the Mayor and
City Council of the city of Havre de Grace of a sum of money
toward the maintenance of a bridge for foot passengers and
vehicular traffic across the Susquehanna river, between the
city of Havre de Grace and the town of Perryville.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and City Council of the city of Havre
de Grace be and they are herby authorized, at their discretion,
to pay to the Havre de Grace and Perryville Bridge Company
of Harford county, on or before the first day of September in
each year, the sum of three hundred dollars (|300) toward the
maintenance of a bridge for foot passengers and vehicular
traffic, across the Susquehanna river, between the city of Havre
de Grace and the town of Perryville, said payments to begin
as soon as said bridge is opened for such traffic, and to be
payable to said corporation, or to such other person or per-
sons, corporation as may own and operate said bridge; and
the said Mayor and City Council may, in their discretion, pro-
vide for and levy in their levy of 1908, and annually thereafter,
on the assessable property in said city, the amount of money
necessary to pay said appropriation.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 650.

AN ACT to provide for the appointment of a notary public for
the fourth election district of Harford county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor of the State of Maryland be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to appoint a notary public
in and for the fourth election district of Harford county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
