786 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and Aldermen of
Frederick, in the event of the approval of such ordinance by the
qualified voters of the city of Frederick, is hereby authorized
and empowered to do all things necessary for the issuance of
such bpnds and their offering for sale under the most advan-
tageous conditions, is authorized and required to levy the neces-
sary taxes upon the taxable property of the corporation to pro-
vide for the payment of the interest on such bonds, to create a
sinking fund for their payment upon maturity, and is author-
ized to do all other things in connection with the procuring of
the loan, the issuance and payment of the bonds and interest
thereon, and carrying on the work provided under the ordi-
nance, as may be necessary or proper, such bonds to be issued
in such manner for such amounts and to be payable at such
time, and to bear such rate of interest as said Mayor and Alder-
men shall by ordinance provide, and when issued such bonds
shall be exempt from municipal and county taxation.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That in providing for the
expenditure of the money to be borrowed under the provisions
of this Act, the Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick shall be free
from the restriction created by section 236e of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland, title "Frederick County," sub-title
"Frederick," as the same was enacted by chapter 295 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of nineteen hundred
and four.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 358.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 223 of
article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Frederick County," sub-title "Frederick," and section 255 of
article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Frederick County," sub-title "Frederick," as the same was
repealed and re-enacted by chapter 31 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January session in
the year eighteen hundred and ninety-six.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 223 of article 11 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Frederick County," sub-title "Fred-
erick," and section 255 of article 11 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Frederick County," sub-title "Fred-
