therein. Nothing herein contained shall deprive the city of any
power of condemnation for any purpose, already vested in it.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage, and that all Acts or parts of Acts
inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 537.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Aldermen of
Frederick to borrow money and issue bonds for a sum of
money not exceeding ($100,000) one hundred thousand dol-
lars, for the purpose of bonding floating indebtedness of said
corporation and providing payment of such permanent im-
provements as may be found necessary or desirable, without
regard to the provisions of section 236B of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Frederick County," sub-title
"Frederick," as the same was enacted by chapter 295 of the
Acts of 1904, provided the bonding of such indebtedness and
such improvements and the approximate amount to be ex-
pended therefor shall receive the assent of the qualified voters
of the city of Frederick before such loan is contracted and
such bonds issued.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick is hereby au-
thorized to borrow money in a sum not to exceed one hundred
thousand ($100,000) dollars, and issue their bonds for the pur-
pose under the conditions set forth in this Act.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and Aldermen of
Frederick is hereby authorized to prepare an ordinance setting
out the purpose to which the money provided under the terms
of this Act shall be devoted, said ordinance to specify the
amount of any floating indebtedness to be bonded, and the ap-
proximate cost of each proposed improvement, and submit the
same to the qualified voters of the city of Frederick, at an elec-
tion to be called for that purpose by said Mayor and Alder-
men, and to be held at such time and place and in such manner
as said Mayor and. Aldermen shall by ordinance provide, and
this Act shall not become effective unless the duly qualified
voters of the city of Frederick, at such election, called for the
purpose, shall by a majority of the votes duly cast, declare
their assent to the borrowing of such money and the issuing of
the bonds therein mentioned and the purposes to which such
money shall be applied.
