sembly of 1894, and by chapter 380 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of 1896, and to re-enact said section 19 of said
chapter 495 of the Acts of 1898, with an amendment so as to
read as follows:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 19 of the chapter 495 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland of the session of 1898, entitled "An
Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments the charter of the
town of Brunswick, in Frederick county, as said charter was
enacted by chapter 577 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, passed at the January session of 1890, and amended
by chapter 520 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1894, and
by chapter 380 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1896," be
and the same is hereby repealed, and said section 19 of said
chapter 495 is hereby re-enacted with amendments, so as to read
as follows:

19. The Council, whenever they think the public interest re-
quired it, may cause an assessment to be made of all real and
personal property within the corporate limits of said town, sub-
ject to assessment for State and county taxes, and they may pre-
scribe the manner in which such assessment shall be made, and
provide for the adjustment of all differences in relation to such
assessment, and do all other things necessary in making such
assessment; and the Council shall levy a tax on all property,
both real and personal, within the corporate limits of said town
that may be assessed for State and county taxes, not exceeding
in any one year eighty cents on the one hundred dollars worth
of assessable property.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 425.

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Council of Brunswick, in
Frederick county, to issue bonds to the extent of fifteen thou-
sand dollars, for the purpose of constructing, operating and
keeping in repair water works for said town, with a proviso
that said issue of bonds be first submitted to and approved
by a vote of the people of the said town of Brunswick.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Council of Brunswick, in Frederick
county, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to
issue bonds in the name of said municipal corporation to an
