CHAPTER 624.
AN ACT to require the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to provide
bells at public crossing of said railroad at Singerly and Elk
Mills crossing, in Cecil county, to warn travelers of approach-
ing trains.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad shall provide bells
at the public crossing of Singerly and Elk Mills, in Cecil
county, of said railroad.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That failure to comply
with the provisions of section 1 of this Act shall be deemed a
misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of $50.00 for each
day after the passage of this Act that said crossings shall be
unprovided with bells.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 734.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Cecil
county to provide for the permanent improvements of its
roads and highways; and, to that end, issue bonds to pro-
vide for the payment for said improvement; and also for the
appointment of an auxiliary board to co-operate and act
with the Board of County Commissioners in the performance
of the said work.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Cecil county are here-
by authorized and required, immediately after the passage of
this Act, in conjunction with an auxiliary board, Hereinafter
provided for, to provide for the permanent improvement of such
of the public roads and highways in said county as in their
judgment shall be for the best interest of the county and its
citizens.
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That for the purpose of the permanent
improvement of the public roads of Cecil county, the County
Commissioners of Cecil county are hereby authorized and
directed to borrow, on the credit of said county, an amount not
exceeding the sum of two hundred thousand dollars, and to
issue coupon bonds thereof in sums of not less than one hun-
dred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars each, to be
signed by the president of the said Board of County Commis-
