title "Charter," said new section to follow immediately after
section 443 of said article 4, as the said section was repealed
and re-enacted by the Acts of 1908, said new section to be
known as section 443A.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, enti-
tled "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Charter," to follow imme-
diately after section 443 of said article, as the same was re-
pealed and re-enacted by the Acts of 1908, said new section to
be known as section 443A, so as to read as follows:
443A. The provisions of the aforegoing section shall also
apply to the term of imprisonment to be served in default of
fines and forfeitures imposed by the several police magistrates
of Baltimore city when exercising criminal jurisdiction.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from May 1, 1908, and that all Acts or parts of Acts
inconsistent with this Act be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 476.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 379
of article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Miscellaneous Local
Laws."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 379 of article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, be and the same is hereby repealed, and the
said section 379 of article 4 is hereby re-enacted with amend-
ments so as to read as follows:
SEC. 379. The judges of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore
City are authorized and directed to appoint from time to time
as many court stenographers, not exceeding in number alto-
gether the number of said judges, as shall in their discretion be
required for the services of the several courts of Baltimore city,
who shall be sworn officers of the court, and shall each be paid
a salary of eighteen hundred dollars per annum when such
stenographers shall be required to attend the courts regularly,
or ten dollars per diem for each day of actual employment when
he shall be appointed to attend only when his services shall be
specially required by the judges; the said salaries to be paid
