528 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

point at a greater distance than one hundred yards from the
natural shore from which the same may be extended, every
such person shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on
conviction of having violated this section shall pay a fine of
not less than fifty dollars nor more than two hundred dollars
for each and every offense, and shall be subject to the same
penalty once in every week so long as the same is allowed to
remain.

443. Any person upon whom any of the fines provided
for by the four preceding sections shall be imposed, shall, in
appointment, shall continue to hold, exercise and discharge
every case, in default of payment of the same, be committed
to jail for not less than thirty days nor more than six months,
or until said fine and all costs are paid; and all and every1
sink-boat, sneak-boat, float, decoy, duck gun of any kind, am-
munition and apparatus of every kind whatsoever for use in
shotting at or killing wild ducks or other water fowl found
to have been in possession of such person at the time of
violating any of the provisions of said sections, or in his
possession at the time of his arrest, shall be forfeited, con-
demned and sold as hereinafter provided.

444. Any sheriff, constable or commissioned militia offi-
cer who shall be satisfied, either upon his own view or from
information received from any other person whatever, on oath
or not, that any person has violated any of the provisions of
said sections, shall.be authorized and empowered to arrest and
take into custody such person so offending, and to seize and
take into his custody any and all the articles hereinbefore
enumerated, found to have been or to be in the possession of
such person.

445. Any person resisting an officer so authorized to
make arrests and seizures, shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, and shall pay a fine of not less than fifty dollars nor
more than one hundred dollars, or be imprisoned in the county
jail for not less than one mon.th nor more than sixty days, or
both fined and imprisoned within the limits herein prescribed.

446. The justices of the peace of Baltimore and Harford
counties, and Circuit Court, respectively, for said counties,
shall have concurrent jurisdiction in all cases that may arise
under the provisions of any of the sections of this sub-title of
this article, and all of them shall have full power, authority
and jurisdiction to impose fines, order the imprisonment and
pass the judgment of condemnation and sale hereby provided
in the respective counties in which the offense may be com-
