454 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

liquors or lager beer nearer the Hannah Moore Academy than
one mile in any direction.

255. It shall not be lawful for the clerk of the Circuit Court
to issue license to any person to sell spirituous or fermented
liquors or lager beer at or within one mile of the village of
Hereford, in Baltimore county.

256. The clerk of the Circuit Court shall not grant a license
to any person to sell spirituous or fermented liquors of any
kind at any place within one mile of Holly Grove, and any
person selling any spirituous or fermented liquors, or any other
kind of intoxicating drink, whether of original manufacture or
of a mixed character, within the above described limits, shall,
on conviction, be subject to the same fines and punishments
now provided by the Code of Public General Laws for selling
spirituous or fermented liquors without license.

257. It shall not be lawful for the clerk of the Circuit Court
to issue license to any person, firm or company, to sell any of
the fermented or spirituous liquors or lager beer within one
mile of the main factory building at Phoenix factory, Baltimore
county; and any person, firm or company convicted of selling
any fermented or spirituous liquors or lager beer within one
mile of the said main factory building at Phoenix, shall be sub-
ject to a fine of not less than twenty dollars, nor more than
fifty dollars, in the discretion of the court, and stand com-
mitted to the jail until such fine and the costs of the prosecu-
tion are paid.

258. It shall not be lawful for the clerk of the Circuit Court
to issue license to any person to sell spirituous or fermented
liquors or lager beer within the town of Sparrows Point or at
any place in said county within two miles distant from the
schoolhouse in said town.

259. It shall not be lawful for the clerk of the Circuit Court
to issue license to any person to sell spirituous or\ fermented
liquors or lager beer in the village of Warren factory, or at any
place nearer thereto than one mile in every direction.

260. It shall not be lawful for the clerk of the Circuit Court
to issue license to any person to sell spirituous or fermented
liquors or lager beer at the Washington factory, or at any place
within half of a mile thereof.

261. It shall not be lawful for the clerk of the Circuit Court
for Baltimore County to issue license to any person, persons,
firms or company to sell any fermented or spirituous liquors or
lager beer within a radius of one mile and a half from the
point of crossing of the Baltimore and Yorktown Turnpike and
