sum or sums of money as shall be certified in such warrants,
that such contractor or contractors are entitled to, in the per-
formance of the contract; and shall pay, upon the warrant of
said building committee, the cost of plans and specifications of
the work proposed to be done, the salary or commissions of the
supervising architect, and such other expenses as said building
committee may properly have incurred in the discharge of its
duty; and no part of said proceeds of sale of said bonds shall
be paid out by the said County School Superintendent except
on the warrant of said building committee.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That the said County School Com-
missioners be and they are hereby authorized and empowered
to sell the school lot or lots, with the improvements thereon,
lying in said village of Eastport, and to convey the same to the
purchaser or purchasers thereof, and to apply the proceeds from
the sale or sales thereof to the erecting, furnishing, heating or

enclosing said building, if the said appropriation should be
inadequate for the purposes herein set forth.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That the lot of ground so pur-
chased for the erection of said building shall be located west of
Second street—laid down on the plat of Horn Point (now

called Eastport), made by John Duvall, surveyor, the 30th day
of September, 1868—and shall contain at least one-half acre of
land.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts
and provisions of the Code of Public General Laws or Public
Local Laws inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be and
the same hereby are repealed.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 502.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Board of County School
Commissioners of Anne Arundel county to appropriate a
sufficient sum of money for the purchase of a site and erec-
tion of a school house in the fourth election district of Anne
Arundel county, near the intersection of the county road
leading from the fork bridge to Laurel, and the Washington,
Baltimore and Annapolis railroad, in the fourth election dis-
trict of Anne Arundel county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of County School Commissioners of Anne
