Whereas under the law now in existence the banks and bank-
ing houses in Anne Arundel county are given a half holiday
from the hour of noon on every Saturday; and
Whereas the public offices are now kept open until the hour
of three o'clock P. M., and the officials are compelled to stay in
their offices until the said hour of three o'clock P. M., with
practically nothing to do; and
Whereas if Saturdays be made a legal half holiday in said
county all persons having business with said county officials
will appear at their offices before the hour of noon and transact
their business; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Saturdays are hereby declared legal holidays in
Anne Arundel county, and that no official or employe of said
county hereafter shall be required to stay in and keep their
several offices open after the said hour of noon on any Saturday,
and that they may close the same in the same manner as the
several banks are permitted to close their doors.

CHAPTER 433.
AN ACT to authorize the Board of County School Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel county to borrow money on the
credit of said county for the completing and fully furnishing
of the high school building in the city of Annapolis, erected
by virtue of chapter 166 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1906, and for making certain alterations in the grammar
school building in said city of Annapolis.
Whereas by chapter 166 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1906, George T. Melvin, Dr. Frank H. Thompson, Martin M.
Smith, William M. Abbott, Charles Weiss, Frank A. Monroe
and John F. Strange were designated and constituted a build-
ing committee for the purpose of erecting and furnishing a
high school building in the city of Annapolis, and authorized
and directed to procure and adopt a plan and specifications
for said building, and to contract for the erection of the same,
and to pay therefor out of the proceeds of certain bonds to the
amount of twenty thousand dollars, directed by said Act to be
issued by the Board of County School Commissioners and
endorsed by the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
county; and
Whereas the said building committee, in pursuance of the
power and authority vested in it by the said Act of 1906, has
