350 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

105. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel county
shall, at their first meeting in the month of May, nineteen hun-
dred and eight, and bi-ennially thereafter, appoint two compe-
tent and reputable physicians, one to reside in the first precinct
and the other to reside in the third precinct of the Fifth Elec-
tion District of Anne Arundel county, to act as physicians to
the police stations in said precincts; and who, in addition
thereto, shall perform all the duties required of a county health
officer; the duties required of a vaccine physician and for
attending and testifying at coroner's inquests within the limits
of said precincts; and for such services each shall receive twen-
ty-five dollars per month, to be paid by said County Commis-
sioners in cash at the end of each month. The said physi-
cians shall hold their respective offices for two years, unless
sooner removed by said County Commissioners, or until their
respective successors be duly appointed and enter upon the dis-
charge of his duties. The said physicians shall at all times
render proper medical attention to any person or persons con-
fined in said police stations or to any other person or persons
at the request of the police officers and the police magistrates
of said precincts. The said police magistrates shall hold coro-
ner's inquests whenever directed by either of the said physi-
cians, but he shall not be allowed any fee for services rendered
by him when acting as coroner, or holding any inquest, in addi-
tion to the salary he now receives. The said physicians may,
however, be allowed by said County Commissioners, in addition
to their respective salary, for any incidental expenses that they
or either of them may incur in the discharge of their official
duties.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on the first day of May, nineteen hundred and eight.

CHAPTER 591.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 123
of article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne
Arundel County, " sub-title "County Commissioners, " as the
same was re-enacted by chapter 98 of the Acts of Assembly
of 1898.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 123 of article 2" of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Anne Arundel County, " sub-title "County Com-
missioners, " be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments so as to read as follows:
