ACT. 1. ] ALLEGANY COUNTY. 315

less than twenty dollars nor more than fifty dollars for each
offense. Any person who shall shoot, kill or destroy within
Allegany county any fox, wild cat, pole cat, mink, weasel, hawk
or owl, shall be entitled to receive from the County Commis-
sioners the following sums of money, viz: For every fox so
shot, killed or destroyed, two dollars; wild cat, pole cat, mink
or weasel, one dollar; for every owl or other destructive bird or
animal the sum of thirty cents, the same to be collected as pro-
vided for in section 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Allegany County, " sub-title "Birds and Game. "

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 334.

AN ACT to authorize and provide for the general index of the
Land Records of Allegany county from the year 1792 to the
year 1908, according to the most approved modern system in
vogue.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the clerk of the Circuit Court for Allegany county,
Maryland be and he is hereby authorized to make a general
index of the Land Records of said Allegany county from the
beginning of said Land Records to 1908, according to the most
approved system now in vogue, of which said clerk shall. be the
judge.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Allegany county be and they are hereby author-
ized and required to levy upon the assessable property of said
county, as other counties' charges are levied, a sum sufficient
to pay for said indexing, unless the receipts of said clerk's
office from fee for services rendered therein shall prove suffi-
cient to pay for said work, after all the office expenses and
salaries of said clerk shall be paid, when said work of indexing
said Land Records shall be paid out of the fees so remaining.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
