section 9, by giving ten days' notice of such time and place of
said election.
SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That in case this bill does not
become a law in time to hold said election on the third Tuesday
in April, 1908, then the election may be held as soon thereafter
as may be practical to allow the said ten days' notice.
SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 17.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments chapter 545
of the Acts of 1906, entitled "Allegany County, " sub-title
"Birds and Game. "
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 12, 13 and 14 of article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Allegany County, " sub-title "Birds
and Game, " as enacted by chapter No. 545 of the Acts of 1906,
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to
read as follows:
SEC. 12. It shall be unlawful for any person to kill or destroy
any ruffed grouse, quail, pheasant or partridge on or after the
second day of January until the first day of November in each
and every year, under a penalty of five dollars for each ruffed
grouse, quail, pheasant or partridge so killed or destroyed.
SEC. 13. It shall be unlawful for any person to kill or destroy
any wild turkey on or after the second day of January until
the first day of November, or any wood-cock on or after the
second day of January until the first day of July in each and
every year, or any robin at any time, under a penalty of five
dollars for each wild turkey, wood-cock or robin so killed or
destroyed.
SEC. 14. It shall be unlawful for any person to kill or destroy
any rabbit on or after the second day of January until the first
day of November, or any squirrel on or after the second day of
January until the first day of September of each and every year
under a penalty of five dollars for each rabbit or squirrel so
killed or destroyed. It shall be unlawful for any person to use
ferrets in the hunting of birds or game under a penalty of not
